Filed under: vocabulary — shaynasclass @ 6:13 pm

FreeRice has a vocabulary quiz which will donate rice to needy people when you get words right.

Play the vocabulary quiz. Each time you get 10 words right, a new rice ball appears to the right of the bowl.

You may play as long as you want. For more bonus credit, write down the words and the definitions as you play. When you are finished, press [Ctrl] + [Print Screen].

Open a new Word document. Press [Ctrl] + [V] or Edit > Paste.

Print the page, sign your name to it, and bring it to Shayna. For an example and details on bonus points, see the handout that will be distributed in class.

Filed under: lab, listening, pre-university — shaynasclass @ 6:22 pm

For this week’s lab, you will listen to a radio story and answer questions about it. You will receive the questions in class. If you want to practice for the final exam, don’t stop the recording to answer questions; listen to it without stopping and try to answer questions while you listen.

The story is here: John Williams and the Music of ‘Star Wars’

Or you can search for the title on NPR.org.

This lab is due in class Friday, October 26.
